Software Engineer

I build custom TypeScript frontends, Java Spring Boot backends, and graphics. Most of that work is private company work, so this site is not a gallery of clients. It is a place to show the public pieces and to make the current professional identity clear.

Since June 2024 I have been a full stack web developer at Teaching Textbooks. I live in Easley, South Carolina.

I started building for the web in 2008 on the LAMP stack, moved through JavaScript, and now work primarily in TypeScript and Java. There is also some C++ and Python in the mix, and a continuing interest in what a GPU can draw without a framework sitting on top of it.

One of my first personal projects was drywall101.com, which I founded and have kept as a long-running product — articles and calculators for drywall hanging, finishing, texture, and repair.

Over the years I have also volunteered in not-for-profit, working in management roles leading teams of between 6 and 160 people.
